A NEW STEP IN COOPERATION IN THE FIELD OF EDUCATION
Within the framework of the working visit of our esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the People's Republic of China to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit and the celebrations dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory in World War II, bilateral meetings were held between members of the Turkmen delegation and representatives of the Chinese side. They discussed the possibilities of cooperation in various fields.
As a result of the meetings, bilateral documents were signed. Among them was a Memorandum of Understanding between the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Lanzhou University.
The signing of this Memorandum will make a worthy contribution to strengthening cultural and humanitarian relations between the two states.
Within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the respective higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China, further cooperation will be carried out in the following areas: organizing training seminars, conducting scientific and practical consultations and research, exchanging invitations to participate in academic events, and exchanging articles, teaching aids, and curricula. The signing of this Document will contribute to the further activation of relations between teachers and students of these higher educational institutions of the two friendly countries.
At present, a new page is being opened in the history of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China. Bilateral cooperation is successfully developing in various fields, including trade and economy, fuel and energy, transport and communications, science and education, culture and humanitarian sectors. The Turkmen-Chinese friendship dates back to centuries. In ancient times, the Great Silk Road connected the two peoples, and today it helps strengthen cooperation between our countries in a modern form. The current visit of our Esteemed President to the People’s Republic of China is of great importance in further developing interstate relations based on mutual trust and respect.
