Scientific Seminar “Heavenly Horses – Our National Pride”
The Akhal-Teke horses have a great place in the life of our people, who say, “I will not call you a horse, but a brother.” Our unique horses, inherited from the millennia-old history of our ancestors, have become a symbol of the development of our time, and that they have been recognized worldwide as a unique value.
The equestrian art of the Turkmens is characterized by its complex nature and its individuality and racing, which combines unique methods. The spread of this art throughout the world and its preservation to our day testifies to the fact that in the past our ancestors bred fast-growing horses that were as humane as humans, loyal to their owners and famous for their speed.
In the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state, our gracious horses are the decoration of our weddings, the national pride of our people. Every year on the last Sunday of April, the National Holiday of the Turkmen Horse is widely celebrated in our country. Different activities are held on this occasion, including horse races, a conference, etc.
On April 18, 2022, on the occasion of this holiday, the Department of Social Sciences of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan organized a scientific seminar entitled “Heavenly Horses – Our National Pride”. During the scientific seminar, the lecturers of the Department and the students of the Institute made interesting speeches about the beauty, speed, sensitivity and health benefits of Turkmen horses. The significance of the books by Hero Arkadag on Akhal-Teke horses were also discussed. A literary presentation entitled “Winged Horses” prepared by the students of the Institute made an impression on the participants of the scientific conference.
