Meeting with the Director for Central Asian Affairs at the National Security Council
On April 15, 2024, as part of the working visit of the US delegation headed by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs John Pommersheim to Turkmenistan, a meeting was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with the participation of professor Brianne Todd, the Director for Central Asian Affairs at the National Security Council and the students of our institute.
During the meeting, professor Brianne Todd spoke about the prospects for the development of Turkmen-American relations and issues of regional and global security. At the meeting, the diplomatic and political issues, trade and economic ties, ecology, culture, education, humanitarian issues as well as intelligence efforts were noted among the priority areas for further bilateral cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, both sides wished great success in fulfilling the further cooperation in strengthening relations in various spheres of mutual interest between the two countries. After the meeting, a tour was organized for honorable guest, who briefly was acquainted with the Historical museum of Turkmen diplomacy of our Institute.
