Contest for Writing a Scientific Paper Dedicated to International Human Rights Day
Adoption and protection of human rights and freedom must play a special role in building a democratic and law-abiding state in our country. At present, Turkmenistan has acceded to many basic human rights conventions, and regular work is underway to adhere to other international legal instruments and implement them in national legislation. As a full member of many international human rights organizations, our country is doing a great job, fully cooperating in this area, filling its mission and contributing to the international experience. Higher education institutions contribute to the further development of human rights education and research. International organizations are called upon to play a special role in this regard in line with international experience.
On December 10, 2021, the United Nations Development Program in Turkmenistan, together with the Turkmen Institute of State, Law and Democracy announced a meeting of international students at the University for the Study of Human Rights. The main objective of the competition is to raise the level of knowledge of international human rights law students, to direct them to scientific research and to improve their human rights skills in the future. The competition was attended by students of law faculties of prestigious universities of the country, including students of the Faculty of International Law of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. Students participating in the competition will focus on topics covered in all areas of human rights, in particular human trafficking, digital human rights protection, human rights in education system, the application of international human rights norms in national legislation and human rights regulation, views and suggestions expressed in their articles. Aybolek Amangeldieva, the 4th year student of the Faculty of International Law, took the 1st place, Hatija Dovletnazarova the 3rd year student took the 2nd place, Jahan Oraeva the 4th year student and Hoshanova Tofe the 5th year student took the 3rd place. Other students of the Faculty of International Law who took an active part in the competition also received incentive prizes, souvenirs and letters of thanks.
The active participation of teachers and students in the Olympiads in the field of International law among the higher educational institutions of our country in many respects contributes to the further enhancement and improvement of their knowledge in the field of International law.
