The 7 th of April – World Health Day
World Health Day is an international holiday that pays a special attention to the human health, physical culture and sports and it is also glorified the great traditions of humanity . Our esteemed President noted “This holiday, which is included in our national calendar, is widely celebrated within the state level in our country as a holiday that encompasses the health, unity, solidarity, great creative potential of our society” .World Health Day is an important holiday for anyone who is interested in a healthy life, a strong body and a strong mind. The history of this day dates back to April 7,1948 and the date which came into force in the World Health Organization Charter. Not long after, on July 22 of that year , the Constitution of the World Health Organization was ratified. Two years later, since April 7, 1950, World Health Day has been celebrated internationally.
As a result of the steady development, the advancement of medicine and the constant discoveries in this field, human life is being prolonged. A few years ago the people were victims of the diseases which are cured successfully nowadays. However, unsolved issues prevail on the health care system, which are not easy but also require daily work.
As it is known, Turkmenistan became a member of the World Health Organization on July 2, 1992. Over the past 28 years our country has been working with the World Health Organization to protect the public health and eliminate risk factors of the population and it is also actively involved in the implementation of its programs to strengthen the material and technical base of the health care system at the international level and to continue an accelerated pace the fight against infectious and non-infectious diseases of the world. Turkmenistan has performed a number of internationally supported initiatives aimed at this issue. A number of international certificates to our country proves of the fact that the cooperation of Turkmenistan with the international organization is highly valued.
