The delegation of Turkmenistan takes part in the CAREC Innovation Summit and Tour digital economy, in the city of Hangzhou, China. This group is comprised of the representatives of the Ministry of Finance and Economics, the Academy of Technology Center Sciences and Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University.
First of all, let's embark on this innovative topic by understanding the very meaning of the sphere of digital economy. This term refers to the economic activities that emerge from connecting individuals, businesses, devices, data and operations through digital technology. Participants will be able to learn about the development, strategies, and opportunities of cross-border e-commerce in the PRC. The events aim to provide a platform for sharing knowledge and experiences, building networks, exploring innovative solutions, and promoting digital economy development mechanisms through regional collaboration.
From November 22 to 24, 2023, the CAREC secretariat will jointly host the “2023 CAREC Innovation Week and Digital Economy Tour” with the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, the Hangzhou Municipal People’s Government, and the Qiantang District People’s Government in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province PRC.
What is CAREC?
The Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Program is a partnership of 11 countries and development partners working together to promote development through cooperation, leading to accelerated economic growth and poverty reduction. It is guided by the overarching vision of “Good Neighbors, Good Partners, and Good Prospects.”
The program is a proactive facilitator of practical, results-based regional projects, and policy initiatives critical to sustainable economic growth and shared prosperity in the region. Since its inception in 2001 and as of December 2021, CAREC has mobilized $47.27 billion in investments that have helped establish multimodal transportation networks, increased energy trade and security, facilitated free movement of people and freight, and laid the groundwork for economic corridor development.
CAREC 2030 provides the new long-term strategic framework for the program leading to 2030. It is anchored on a broader mission to connect people, policies and projects for shared and sustainable development, serving as the premier economic and social cooperation platform for the region.Approximately 60 representatives from nine countries, including Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, representing governments, universities, enterprises, incubation platforms, and venture capital institutions, will attend various activities. The CAREC countries can take advantage of this opportunity to learn from leading e-commerce platforms, as well as explore collaboration mechanisms to encourage the participation of small and medium-sized enterprises in e-commerce activities. The agenda includes everything from keynote speeches by industry leaders to panel discussions to express diverse views. Chapter consultations will allow for insightful conversations and deeper exploration of specialized topics.
The event was organized as a complementary event to the Second Digital World Trade Expo 2023, which will be held in Hangzhou, China from November 23 to 27. 800 enterprises will be represented in the exhibition area of 100 thousand square meters.
