The 4th edition of the Red Book of Turkmenistan was published.
To ensure the protection of endangered species, a temporary document – the Red Book – is being created with a special list of them. The first Red Book was created by the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources in 1966.
The safe conservation and reproduction of species included in the Red Book is a valuable contribution to the preservation of biological diversity not only for our country, but also for the whole world. Every part of the complex structure of Earth, the common home of the humanbeing, requires constant attention and care. Necessary work should be carried out to preserve wild animals and plants, to scientifically study them, to increase their number, and to preserve our beautiful natural areas in the reserves of the country.
A scientific and technical consultation regarding the preparation of the 4th edition of the Red Book of Turkmenistan was held in Amyderya State Nature Reserve, where the speakers expressed their opinions about the animals and plants proposed to be included in the next edition of the Red Book. Conservation of endangered species living within the boundaries of this reserve and Kelif limited reserve is the main activity of the reserves. The information to be described in the list of animals and plants subject to protection in the prepared 4th edition of the Red Book of Turkmenistan is based on many years of experience. The staff of the reserve is strengthening the research activities they are currently conducting, making efforts to enrich and protect the flora and fauna.
