HAPPY NEW YEAR: A GLOBAL CELEBRATION
As everyone celebrates New Year, and it is celebrated in different ways in different cultures. The New Year is known to be an exciting time, full of joy and celebration all over the world! People and families come together on the last night of December to celebrate and welcome the New Year. The New Year is a wonderful event that inspires everyone joy and togetherness. New Year is something most children can relate to and write about. The New Year is a special time for all people as they feel a renewed sense of responsibility for their lives. New Year’s Day is an auspicious and wonderful day for people around the world. It is a holiday celebrated by everybody around the world, regardless of culture and faith. It is a holiday where everyone comes together and celebrates a day that marks a new beginning in everyone’s life. It is a day when people evaluate and take valuable lessons from the experiences they faced in the previous year and use them to do better in the next year of their life. It is common practice to formulate resolutions with a view to maintaining a positive outlook and achieving improvements in the future.
People also welcome the New Year by decorating their houses, putting up lights and baking and buying cakes, setting off fireworks, meeting or visiting friends, or relatives, and rejoicing in the arrival of an auspicious day. People are simultaneously full of enthusiasm and tranquility, as a new sense of hope takes hold of everyone, and they prepare for what the New Year will bring them.
According to historical sources, the earliest New Year’s Eve celebrations can be traced back to ancient civilizations, where they were deeply intertwined with agricultural cycles, religious beliefs, and astronomical phenomena. In Rome, the day was dedicated to Janus, the two-faced god of beginnings and endings, symbolizing looking back into the past and forward into the future.
If we consider the modern era of this holiday, the 19th and early 20th centuries marked a period of rapid transformation for New Year’s Eve celebrations. Industrialization and urbanization brought about new ways of observing this day. As society continues to evolve, so too will these celebrations adapt to new social norms, technological advances, and cultural influences while retaining their essence as a moment of hope, reflection, and renewal.
Our country is now on the verge of the New Year holidays. Now the long-awaited New Year holiday is full of happiness and joy, good hopes and wishes to everyone. At this moment, our country is once again summarizing the results of the past and making concrete plans for the future. Our whole country is in a festive mood, a state of high spirits has been created in all corners of the Motherland.
These days, the our country has become even more beautiful and strikes with its special colours that stir the soul. This is a natural state. Each new day is a vivid evidence of successful implementation of the domestic and foreign policy of our leader, confident advancement of our country to the heights of development.
We are proud to note that the year 2024, which is coming to an end, is marked by important events. The year 2024 is being held under the motto “The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Pyragy”, approved by our Honorable President. This motto was put forward based on the poem “The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Pyragy”, which was born of the sharp intellect and precious wisdom of our Hero Arkadag, as well as numerous proposals received from representatives of the People's Council of Turkmenistan, large public associations of our country, and our citizens. This motto is of particular significance in connection with the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Pyragy, a great thinker and classic poet of the East, in 2024.
It is in this context that we will celebrate the wonderful New Year. This holiday opens a new page in the history of our country on the path of sovereign development. It should be noted that the New Year celebrations in Turkmenistan were initiated by our esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
To conclude, every New Year is a step further to what can be a bright and prosperous future.
