EDUCATION IS A SIGNIFICANT TOOL FOR THE COUNTRY
International Day of Education is an annual international observance day held on January 24 and is dedicated to education. On December 3, 2018, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution proclaiming January 24 as International Day of Education, in celebration of the role of education for bringing global peace and sustainable development.
Why is International Day of Education celebrated?
International Day of Education is observed annually to re-evaluate education in our lives, as well as identify and address the issues of education in our society. On a larger scale, the role of education in breaking boundaries between cultures and countries, and maintaining peace and equality is also observed.
In this regard, every year on January 24, International Education Day is celebrated around the world. This year the fifth International Day of Education was celebrated on 24 January 2023 under the theme “to invest in people, prioritize education”. No doubt, the future of any country and the well-being of its citizens depend on the quality of education. Education is a significant tool that provides knowledge, skill, technique, information and enables people to expand the outlook to see the world around themselves.
It changes our perception of life. Education develops the ability to explore new things to enhance your creativity. Our creativity is a tool to develop of the nation. In addition, education gives us a sense of belonging and purpose in life and offers stability. Besides , making people productive citizens of the country, it also helps the people become responsible and aware of everything that contribute to world peace and wellness.
Education empowers everyone. It is an important aspect that shapes the modern and industrialized world. People need education to be able to cope up with the advancements in the developing world. In the modern era of “Revival of a New Era of a Powerful State”, large-scale work is being carried out in the field of national education in Turkmenistan. Great efforts are being made in our country to improve the national education system, as well as to educate the young people who are capable of managing advanced innovative technologies.
In our country the Program “Revival of a New Era of a Powerful State : the National Program social and economic development of Turkmenistan for 2022-2052” the tasks set together with other national programs to improve the education system and train highly educated specialists are successfully being implemented. In our country caring for the young generation is bearing fruit. In recent years, the number of young students and schoolchildren who have won prizes at international Olympiads in different subjects and sport competitions has been increasing.
In accordance with the Law of Turkmenistan "On State Policy towards Youth", favorable conditions are created to ensure the rights and freedoms of the younger generation, for the full participation of young people in the political, economic and cultural life of our state and society. It means the integrity, strength, unity of society; promotes the participation of young people in the implementation of national programs to achieve high standards and reforms in the state.
Today we can confidently say that Turkmenistan, constantly introducing world standards into the education system, develops cooperation with the United Nations and its specialized bodies as UNICEF, UNFPA, UNDP, UNESCO in the field of humanitarian activities. Our country is actively studying the positive world experience in the field of education, constantly expanding relations with educational and scientific centers of foreign countries.
Education is the pathway for a nation’s progress. Education is the backbone of society. Our country takes all measures to provide education to every individual of the country. This brings equality among people and when people improvise their way of living, they become more responsible towards the family and society.
In Turkmenistan, all conditions for intellectual and physical development are provided for the young generation and as well as a comprehensive work is being carried out in the country to implement the state policy on youth. In conclusion, it should be noted that the literacy rate of more developed countries is also high, and the literacy of every nation depends upon its education system. In this regard, our government undoubtedly has made laws and formulated schemes to implement successfully.
