“THE CULTURE OF ROAD TRAFFIC – THE TRANQUILITY OF LIFE” CONFERENCE HAS BEEN HELD
On September 15, 2026, a conference titled “The Culture of Road Traffic – The Tranquility of Life” was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The event was organized by the Department of International Economic Relations as part of the annual monthly campaign “Road Traffic Safety – The Peace of Our Lives”, which takes place every year in September. The conference was attended by Sulgun Nepesova, a lecturer at the Department of International Economic Relations, and students of the Faculty of International Economic Relations.
Speakers at the conference noted that, just as everything has its rules of etiquette, roads also have their own order, discipline, and mandatory rules to be followed, and compliance with these rules is primarily essential for a person’s own safety. From this perspective, it was emphasized that on the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, large-scale events and awareness-raising meetings are regularly held throughout the month-long campaign launched in 2013 under the slogan “Road Traffic Safety – The Peace of Our Lives”. Detailed explanatory work regarding ensuring the safety of every citizen and observing traffic rules is carried out during these high-level events. It was specially noted that these measures, held annually from September 1 to September 30, are aimed at reducing road transport accidents and ensuring the peaceful and prosperous life of our citizens.
Furthermore, it was pointed out that the caravan routes established by the ancient Oguz Turkmens have today transformed into modern highways, railways, and even airways, and that our Esteemed President is making tremendous efforts to protect human health and safety in our country. Emphasizing that all our compatriots actively participate in the activities of this monthly campaign, speakers highlighted the importance for every individual especially school students and university youth to be cautious in public places and traffic, and to learn the rules for ensuring personal safety. It was also stressed that the laws, codes, and regulatory legal acts operating in our country are adopted in accordance with the interests of the residents living in Turkmenistan, and detailed information was provided about the Law of Turkmenistan “On Road Traffic Safety”. In accordance with the law, it was reminded that ensuring road traffic safety is the duty of each and every one of us.
At the end of the conference, the participants noted that the organized and unique impactful events and conferences held in every corner of our country during the monthly campaign are of great significance in educating the youth.
