SCIENTIFIC-PRACTICAL CONFERENCE HELD ON THE OCCASION OF VICTORY DAY
On May 5, 2026, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a Scientific-Practical Conference titled “The Heroism of Our Ancestors – A Great School for Educating Youth in the Spirit of Patriotism,” dedicated to the 81st anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. The representatives of the Institute of State, Law, and Democracy of Turkmenistan, faculty members, and students of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, as well as other higher educational institutions of the country attended the conference. During the plenary session of the conference, several keynote presentations were delivered: Meretguly Tangiyev, Head of Department at the Institute of State, Law, and Democracy of Turkmenistan: “Loyalty to the Motherland and the People - A Noble Responsibility”; Guljahan Amanberdiyeva, lecturer at the Department of Social Sciences of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan: “The Significance of the 'Halk Hakydasy' Memorial Complex in Studying Turkmen History”; Ogulbike Ymamberdiyeva, Trainee Instructor at the Department of Theory and Practice of Journalism: “Reflection of the Patriotic Theme in the Works of Turkmen Writers and Poets”; Batir Sadullayev, the 5th-year student of the Faculty of International Economic Relations: “The Socio-Economic Situation of Turkmenistan During the Years of the Great Patriotic War.”
After the plenary session, the conference continued its work in thematic breakout sessions titled: “Patriotism, Courage, and Resilience - The Moral Principle of the Turkmen People”, “The Heroism of Ancestors as a Great Example of Humanism”, “The Heroism of Our Brave People - The Pride of Generations”.
In these sessions, numerous presentations were presented regarding the patriotic education of the youth, the sanctity of the Motherland, the developmental characteristics of our peaceful nation, and international cooperation.
Our centuries-old values and heritage have become a reliable foundation in the new historical era, upon which the country builds its prosperous future. The tradition of remembrance and the perpetual honoring of national heroes remain one of the steadfast pillars of Turkmen society.
