Videoconference was held
On August 20, 2021, a video conference was held in the administrative building of the Caspian Sea Institute on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence - the Achievements and Prospects of Cooperation with International Ocean Institute.
The seminar was attended by representatives of the Caspian Sea Institute, the Turkmendenizderyayollary Agency, the Ministry of Construction and Architecture of Turkmenistan, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Institute for International Oceans in the Swiss Confederation, the Republic of Malta, the Federal Republic of Germany, the Republic of Honduras and the Republic of Albania.
The participants discussed the Chronology of the Caspian negotiations, the New Caspian Environmental Program – Initiative of the President of Turkmenistan, issues of creating of national marine scientific and educational center, preparating to the VI Caspian Summit, Caspian Sea and Academic Curricula on international maritime law at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Ocean Governance for a Sustainable Caspian Sea through Cooperation, Collaboration and Capacity Development, IOI@50 – five decades of work in favour of sustainable ocean governance - 1972-2022, Aspects of navigation in the Caspian Sea from the viewpoint of the special international-legal status of the Caspian Sea, International Maritime Conventions and their application relating to the Caspian Sea.
The Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan actively cooperates with the International Ocean Institute. The teachers and students of the Institute improve their knowledge and experience in this area by participating in seminars and online meetings organized by this international organization.
