Transport Diplomacy is an Important Aspect of Turkmen-Afghan Relations
On December 21, 2022, at the Training Center for Important Areas of Diplomacy of Turkmenistan operating at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan was held a meeting on "Transport Diplomacy" with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Ovezov Hoja. The students of the institute participated at the meeting.
During the meeting, the diplomat talked about the experience gained within the framework of Turkmen-Afghan relations, the current state of cooperation and the tasks ahead in developing bilateral relations in the future. In addition, the Ambassador focused on the work, which being done with existing opportunities, to further improve relations between Turkmenistan and Afghanistan in the political, trade-economic, transport-communication, science-education, cultural-humanitarian fields. Ambassador Ovezov Hoja noted that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to joint international projects aimed at stabilizing the economic situation in Afghanistan, including the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline, as well as the high-voltage power transmission and fiber-optic communication on the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan route. In addition, it was noted that there are wide opportunities in the transport and communication system between the two countries, in this direction, the railways named "Lapis Lazuli" Kerki-Ymamnazar-Akina, Serhetabat-Turgundy, Akina-Andhoi, transport corridor, Afghanistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey, was discussed in detail.
At the end of the impressive meeting, the students addressed their questions to the Ambassador and received accurate and comprehensive answers.
