EDUCATIONAL MEETING ON THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE LEGAL FOUNDATIONS OF TURKMENISTAN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS
On June 9, 2026 educational meeting was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The event was organized to explain to the student youth the essence and significance of Turkmenistan foreign policy course, its legal status of permanent neutrality, international initiatives, as well as the laws adopted in this field.
The meeting was attended by members of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, representatives of the mass media, as well as the faculty and students of the institute.
During the meeting, speeches were delivered by Merdan Tuvakov, Member of the Committee on International and Inter-Parliamentary Relations of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and Member of Parliament; Jemal Toryeva, Editor-in-Chief of the Diýar magazine; and Merjen Gurbannazarova, Senior Lecturer at the Department of International Law and Comparative Law Studies of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The speakers emphasized that Turkmenistan international relations are built upon a solid legal foundation. A detailed analysis was provided regarding the international legal status of Turkmen neutrality and its geopolitical role in strengthening peace, stability, and mutually beneficial cooperation both in the region and on the global stage. In particular, it was noted that the international initiatives put forward by Turkmenistan in the spheres of water diplomacy, environmental law, and regional cooperation receive unanimous and consistent support from the global community. The participants drew special attention to the fact that studying the diplomatic heritage of our state and implementing the pristine path of international law constitute vital tasks for future specialists.
At the conclusion of the meeting, students addressed the speakers with questions of interest aimed at enriching their knowledge in the field of international relations and legal culture. The participants of the event expressed their sincere gratitude to the Hero-Arkadag and the Esteemed President, Arkadagly Hero Serdar, for their tireless efforts in glorifying national diplomacy throughout the world.
