Scientific conference dedicated to the Day of Diplomats of Turkmenistan
On February 18, 2021, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a scientific conference on “Diplomacy of Turkmenistan: Past, Present, Future” dedicated to the Day of Diplomats of Turkmenistan. Representatives of the diplomatic corps of Turkmenistan, diplomatic missions operating in the country, professors of the higher educational institutions, representatives of the media and students attended the meeting.
As part of the conference, an exhibition was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, authoritative international organizations, diplomatic missions of foreign countries, universities of our country in the building of the Institute of International Relations.
The participants attentively listened to the Congratulatory Message of the President sent to the participants of the scientific conference. During the meeting, the rectors of the Institute of International Relations, the International University for the Humanities and Development, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Turkmenistan Alexander Blokhin, UNICEF Representative in Turkmenistan Kristin Weigand, the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly made their speeches. As noted in the speeches, Turkmenistan is successfully implementing its foreign policy based on the principles of positive Neutrality. It was also stressed that Turkmenistan’s initiatives to ensure peace and security in the region and in the world have received wide response and recognition from the world community.
During the ceremony, young diplomats of the Diplomatic Service of Turkmenistan and last-year students of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were awarded with diplomas for their active contribution to the implementation of the foreign policy strategy of our country.
At the end of the meeting, the participants received an Address to the President and expressed sincere gratitude to the Turkmen leader for his special attention and consistent efforts to develop and further improve the structure of the diplomatic service of the country.
