SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE DEDICATED TO THE DAY OF DIPLOMATIC WORKERS OF TURKMENISTAN
On February 18, 2023, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a scientific conference on “Dialogue – a Guarantee of Peace” dedicated to the Day of Diplomatic Workers of Turkmenistan. The conference was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps of Turkmenistan, diplomatic missions working in the country, professors of higher education institutions, the media and students.
As part of the conference, an exhibition in the building of the Institute of International Relations of the MFA of Turkmenistan was organized jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, reputable international organizations, diplomatic missions of foreign countries, higher education institutions of the country.
The Congratulatory Message of the President of Turkmenistan to the staff of the Diplomatic Service of Turkmenistan was presented by the Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov to the participants of the conference. During the event, UN Secretary-General for Central Asia, Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia Natalya German, UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan Dmitry Shlapachenko, Representative of the UN Children's Fund in Turkmenistan Mohammad Fayazi and Gulshat Yusupova, vice-rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan made their speeches. As noted in the speeches, Turkmenistan is successfully implementing its foreign policy based on the principles of positive Neutrality. It was also noted that with the new philosophy of the Hero Arkadag “Dialogue – a guarantee of peace”, Turkmenistan’s initiatives to promote peace and security in the region and worldwide have received a wide response and recognition from the world community.
During the ceremony, Amangeldy Rakhmanov, Head of the Department of the Institute of International Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Aksoltan Ataeva, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the United Nations, Hero of Turkmenistan, Meret Orazov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the USA, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Mexico, Chari Niyazov, Associate Professor of the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, candidate of historical sciences, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Chinar Rustamova, the Responsible secretary of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO,Hero of Turkmenistan and Berdimyrat Rejepov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Federal Republic of Germany were awarded with the distinction "Master Diplomat of Turkmenistan". As well as young diplomats of the Diplomatic Service of Turkmenistan and senior students of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan were awarded diplomas for their active contribution to the implementation of the foreign policy strategy of our dear Motherland, too.
The participants of the scientific conference adopted the Address to the President and expressed sincere gratitude to the Turkmen leader for his special attention to the development of the diplomatic service of our country. A festive concert dedicated to the Day of Diplomatic Workers of Turkmenistan took place within the framework of the conference.
