FACULTY MEMBERS OF THE INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS OF THE MFA OF TURKMENISTAN PARTICIPATE IN THE “KATIPATA” PROGRAM
To expand international academic cooperation, enhance professional competencies, and strengthen cultural and educational ties across the Turkic world, the “KatipAta” program (Turkish Language Program for Civil Servants and Scholars of the Turkic World) carries special significance. The initiative is implemented by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) of the Republic of Türkiye in cooperation with Hacettepe University.
The “KatipAta” program is designed to develop the linguistic and intercultural skills of civil servants, diplomats, faculty members, researchers, and scholars from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan. Its core objective extends beyond advanced Turkish language training: it aims to foster lasting professional networks, broaden the exchange of knowledge and experience, and unlock new avenues for institutional cooperation among Turkic nations.
Participation in this program is particularly vital for Turkmenistan, which actively advances international partnerships in education, research, culture, and diplomacy. Among the attendees are faculty members from the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. For them, the program provides a valuable opportunity to deepen professional expertise, broaden academic perspective, and explore modern approaches to international relations and diplomacy.
As part of the curriculum, participants engage in intensive Turkish language courses, attend lectures and specialized seminars delivered by prominent scholars and experts, and gain insight into Türkiye’s history, culture, and socio-political landscape. Key features of the program include high-level meetings with representatives of government bodies, research institutes, universities, and think tanks, alongside cultural and educational activities.
For the staff of the Institute of International Relations of the MFA of Turkmenistan, “KatipAta” offers strong prospects for further professional and academic growth. The knowledge and practical skills gained will enrich the teaching process, advance research activities, support the preparation of analytical policy papers, and strengthen the Institute’s international academic partnerships.
A major outcome of the program will be the strengthening of direct ties between young professionals and academics from Turkmenistan and Türkiye, establishing a solid foundation for joint research projects, collaborative educational events, and continuous knowledge exchange.
Ultimately, the “KatipAta” program serves not only as an effective educational platform, but also as a powerful tool for building friendship, mutual understanding, and long-term partnership between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Türkiye, fostering the cultural and intellectual potential of the Turkic world.
