The lecture of the expert of UNICEF in the field of SDGs
On May 23, 2024, in commemoration of International Biodiversity Day, UNDP, in partnership with the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, hosted an engaging event for students.
On May 23, 2024, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a training course focusing on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Led by Sheeba Harma, a UNICEF expert, the session delved into the vital aspect of gender equality within the SDGs framework and the progress made in this realm, emphasizing the protection of women's rights.
During the presentation, Ms. Sheeba Harma expounded on the importance of incorporating gender considerations into the SDGs framework. She emphasized the initiatives taken to promote women's rights and achieve gender equality on a global scale. Statistical data was presented to the students, providing insights into the progress of the SDGs in Turkmenistan, highlighting both accomplishments and areas requiring further attention.
The session concluded with a UNICEF workshop designed to empower students to actively contribute to achieving the SDGs. Sheeba Harma reiterated her unwavering commitment to advancing the cause of women's rights and gender equality, emphasizing her dedication to ongoing initiatives in this domain.
The training program effectively facilitated the dissemination of knowledge and comprehension of the SDGs among students, thereby enabling them to assume the role of catalysts for constructive transformation within their respective communities and beyond.
