Roundtable dedicated to the 30th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Russian Federation
On April 11, 2022, At the Institute of International Relations of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan a roundtable dedicated to the 30th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Russian Federation was held via video connection with participation of diplomatic representatives of neighboring countries.
The moderator of this roundtable was Ivan Alekseevich Safranchuk, Director of the Center for Eurasian Studies of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russian Federation. The roundtable was opened by the speeches of A. V. Torkunov, Academician of Russian Academy of Sciences, Rector of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russian Federation and B. K. Niyazliyev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Russian Federation.
A. Sternik, Director of the Third Department of the CIS countries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, J. Gurbangeldiyev, Rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan (via videoconference), Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation, Head of the Business and Cultural Complex of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Russian Federation, Director of the Institute for International Studies, as well as Leading Researcher of the Center for Eurasian Studies of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and A. Rahmanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Professor, Head of the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy of the IIR of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan (via videoconference) delivered speeches at the meeting.
Diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Russian Federation was established in 1992. Since strategic cooperation between two countries has reached new heights in the spheres of policy, economy, culture, education etc. Future events to be jointly organized were also considered during the roundtable. Such kinds of events testify close relations of the two countries.
