A Tour to the National Museum of Turkmen Carpet
On May 5, 2025, a tour to the National Museum of Turkmen Carpet was organized with students and schoolchildren who are members of the scientific club of the Department of Social Sciences "Paýhas we parasat" and the School of Young Diplomats of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. During the tour, the schoolgirls got acquainted with interesting information about the history of weaving of unique ancient Turkmen carpets, the origin of national patterns, and the distinctive features of carpets. This museum contains about 2,000 carpet exhibits that are distinguished by their elegance, weaving features, and history of origin.
Such tours are of great importance in preserving the national values, created by Turkmen women over millennia, in developing love for our nationality and in passing them on to the future generations. This tour, organized with the aim of stressing the importance of the Turkmen carpet, which has been included in the "List of UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity" and has been passed down from generation to generation, made a great impression on the students.
