15 YEARS OF THE NATIONAL SCHOOL OF TURKMEN DIPLOMACY
On March 20, 2023, a meeting was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of this higher education school. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, senior diplomats, professors and teachers of the institute, graduate students and young students.
Taking into account the increasing activity of Turkmenistan in the international community, to create a unified system of training and improvement of excellent specialists for the diplomatic service of the country, to provide state institutions working in the field of foreign policy and international relations with high-quality specialists, as well as the development of international relations and the modern world. On March 20, 2008, the President of Turkmenistan signed the Decree on the establishment of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan in order to conduct research on fundamental issues.
As those who spoke at the meeting noted, this higher education school of diplomacy has taken its rightful place in the integrated system of training national specialists of Turkmenistan in the last 15 years. Graduates of the Institute work in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, law enforcement agencies, the economic and financial sector, the State Committee for Television, Radio Communications and Cinematography of Turkmenistan, editorial offices of city and provincial newspapers, and other institutions. Today, many of our graduates who have successfully completed their studies are successfully working within the institute.
Over the past period, the structure of the higher education institution has been further improved. Based on the decision of the President of Turkmenistan, a scientific-methodological center for sustainable development goals, a training center for important areas of Turkmenistan's diplomacy, a scientific center for strategic studies, a school for young diplomats and a digital systems and communication department were opened in the structure of the institute.
As the speakers pointed out, the Institute of International Relations, founded on the initiative of our Hero Arkadag, is based on the modern higher education system and diplomatic fundamental principles, and comprehensively assimilates the leading world experience. The institute also conducts large-scale international cooperation. The Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan has signed documents on cooperation with diplomatic academies of many countries and famous universities that train specialists in the field of international relations.
On September 1, 2011, with the participation of our Hero Arkadag, the new complex of buildings of the national diplomacy school of the country was opened and put into use. In his speech at the opening ceremony of the Palace of Knowledge, our Hero Arkadag addressed the students of the institute, emphasizing that they are entrusted with the high and responsible task of representing Turkmenistan in the international community, for this he said, they must become perfect professionals.
At the end of the conference, the participants expressed their deep gratitude to our National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag and to our highly Esteemed President for creating great opportunities to develop of the National School of Turkmen Diplomacy.
