Meeting Dedicated to Turkmen-American Relations
On December 23, 2022, a meeting was organized at the Training and Methodological Center for Sustainable Development Goals of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, by the participation of the Institute’s faculty members, featuring the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the United States of America, Meret Orazov.
During the meeting, Ambassador Orazov shared insights gained through Turkmen-American relations, discussing the ongoing bilateral cooperation and the tasks ahead for developing mutually beneficial relations. Ambassador Orazov also spoke in detail about efforts to enhance cooperation across multiple fields, strengthen political and economic ties, foster economic development, and create jobs in both countries.
The Ambassador reviewed the 30-year history of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the United States, emphasizing the significant progress made on international and regional issues of mutual interest. He highlighted joint projects on cultural heritage preservation and deepening productive relations with leading U.S. academic and educational institutions. Additionally, he discussed the potential for expanding educational and cultural ties, including a draft agreement on archaeological excavations by the Ministry of Culture from 2021 to 2025.
Furthermore, Ambassador Orazov emphasized the importance of recent agreements reached at a bilateral meeting between our Hero-Arkadag, the esteemed President, and the Executive Director of the Turkmenistan-U.S. Business Council, along with leaders of major American companies.
