Meeting with Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey
A meeting between the Rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan J. Gurbangeldiyev and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Turkmenistan Togan Oral was held on March 2, 2021.
The meeting was focused on the development of friendly, mutually beneficial relations with neighboring countries, the creation of new content for cooperation, the strengthening and intensification of cooperation under the leadership of the esteemed President of Turkmenistan. Also it was emphasized that the relations with the Republic of Turkey plays the important role in the foreign policy of Turkmenistan.
Noting the fruitful development of relations in the field of education as an important area of Turkmen-Turkish cooperation, the sides noted that specific work had been done in recent years on the example of the National School of Turkmen Diplomacy.
In 2012, a Memorandum of mutual Understanding on cooperation was signed between the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey. The students of our institute paid a visit to Turkish universities. Turkish professors gave lectures to the students at the National School of Turkmen Diplomacy and the lectures of the institute in Turkey. With the close support of the Government of the Republic of Turkey, a number of international scientific-practical conferences and other politically significant events were held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the process of activities aimed at expanding scientific cooperation and the opportunities for its development were discussing. The parties also made relevant proposals to expand this cooperation.
