The Organization of Turkic States: A New Era of Cooperation
On November 22, 2022, the Institute of Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan held an international online conference entitled “Samarkand Summit of the Organization of Turkic States: Main Outcomes and Prospects for the Development of Cooperation”.
Representatives of the strategic and analytical centers of the member and observer states of the Organization of Turkic States participated in the meeting.
During the online conference, the experts who participated in it emphasized that the Organization of Turkic States has gone through a long and complicated path to become a powerful international organization with great potential, and its political weight has increased not only in Central Asia, but also in the world.
The experts exchanged views on the implementation of the adopted strategy for 2022-2026 aimed at improving the economic potential of the member and observer states of the Organization in the future.
Within the framework of the conference, the need to further expand the scope of cooperation in cultural and humanitarian fields was considered. In addition, the participants discussed an idea of adopting a common alphabet for Turkic-speaking peoples and establishing harmonious cooperation between law enforcement agencies and special services in the fight against threats such as international terrorism.
