TIMUN 2025 – «Tashkent International Model United Nations Conference»
On May 23 - 25, 2025, students from the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan participated in one of the largest UN conferences in Central Asia — the international conference titled TIMUN 2025 “Tashkent International Model United Nations Conference”, organized by Westminster International University in Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan.
The participants included Nurmyrat Azadow, a student of the Faculty of International Law, Atajan Orazlyyev and Mekan Azadow, students of the Faculty of International Economic Relations and their supervisor, Durli Ballyyeva, a senior lecturer at the Department of International Law and Comparative Law.
The conference brought together over 400 delegates from around the world and offered opportunities for in-depth exploration of current international and regional issues. It also served as a platform for young people to develop their skills in diplomacy, international relations, and negotiation.
Since its inception, TIMUN has become a significant platform recognized and supported by various United Nations bodies, committees, and institutions, with active participation from university students. The event has turned into a regional hub for youth dialogue and the study of global challenges. During the conference, participants simulated the work of UN committees, deliberated on resolutions, and conducted thoughtful and lively debates on critical global topics — all aimed at enhancing their diplomatic and decision-making abilities.
This year’s theme, “Together for the Future, Together with Youth”, highlights the conference’s commitment to the principles of the UN Charter and demonstrates the organization's belief in youth as key contributors to future global initiatives.
