THE MOTTO OF NEW YEAR
On December 26, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held an extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Security Council. The chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan reported on the results of the work conducted to determine the motto and symbol of 2026. As was noted, based on the explanation of our Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov that the upcoming year, namely, the year of the horse, has special importance, that the Ahalteke horses occupy a special place in the centuries-old history of the Turkmen people, and on the proposals received from people's representatives, large public associations, working groups, and citizens, the Mejlis prepared the resolution to declare 2026 ‘Independent Neutral Turkmenistan is the Home of Purposeful Winged Horses’ to highlight the achievements of our independent country, which is confidently moving towards new heights of development with the gallop of the horse, under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The President of Turkmenistan noted that the members of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, together with our compatriots, proposed the motto and emblem of the upcoming year and, supporting this proposal, declared the motto of 2026 ‘Independent Neutral Turkmenistan is the Home of Purposeful Winged Horses’. This decision was greeted with thunderous applause.
