Victory of our students at the World Championship
On September 8-10, 2023, in the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent, hosted the 13th World Shotokan Karate Championships, in which about two thousand athletes took part in the tournament. The national team of Turkmenistan was represented by 62 karate players of various age categories.
Davut Nazmuradov, third year student of the Faculty of International Relations Rasul Atajanov, 1st year student of faculty of international economic relations and Yusup Garajayev, 2nd year student of faculty of International law of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, participated in this championship as part of the Turkmenistan national team.
Following the results of the tournament, the Turkmenistan Shotokan karate team, having demonstrated impressive results. Students are proud to hear the victory of their friends at this tournament, because at the last World Championship in the individual category Shobu Sanbon Kumitev in the weight category 75 kg under 21 years old among men, Davut Nazmuradov took the 1st place and brought a gold medal. Rasul Atajanov brought one silver and two bronze medals and Yusup Garajayev brought one bronze medal to the Turkmenistan national team.
It is worth noting that the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development recognizes the important role of sport in social progress: “Sport is also an important factor in achieving sustainable development. We recognize the growing contribution of sport to development and peace as it promotes tolerance and respect and contributes to the empowerment of women and youth, individuals and communities, and the achievement of health, education and social inclusion goals.”
In total, within the framework of the World Championship, sets of medals were played in the following age categories: children from 6 years old, cadets, youth, juniors, adults, veterans over 35 years old, over 40 years old, art. 45 years old, art. 55 years.
