OUR STUDENT – WINNER OF THE INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC PROJECT COMPETITION
On June 5, 2025, in celebration of World Environment Day and Science
Day, an award ceremony was held for the winners of the International Scientific
Project Competition titled "The Role of Youth in Achieving the Sustainable
Development Goals." The event was organized by Turkmen Agricultural
University named after S.A. Niyazov in collaboration with the Ministry of
Education and the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan. This competition, held
for the third time, aims to strengthen international cooperation within
Turkmenistan’s science and education system, foster students’ creativity, and
increase their interest in scientific research and professional growth.
Sahydowlet Hummetjumayev, a second-year student of the Faculty of
International Relations of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, participated in the competition with his research
titled "The Medicinal Properties of Quince Leaves and Their Infusion." His project
earned third place. The scientific advisor for the student’s work was Sulgun
Nepesova, a lecturer from the Department of International Economic Relations.
For the first round of "The Role of Youth in Achieving the Sustainable
Development Goals" competition, a total of 131 projects were submitted by
students from Turkmenistan and universities from Russia, Azerbaijan, Iran,
Turkey, Kazakhstan, China, Belarus, Latvia, Malaysia, Poland, Montenegro, and
Slovenia. These submissions were carefully reviewed by a panel of judges. As a
result, 36 authors were selected to participate in the second round.
Following the evaluation of the second round, 18 projects were declared
winners—3 from international universities and 15 from higher education
institutions in Turkmenistan. In total, 4 projects gained first place, 6 gained second
place, and 8 were awarded third place.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Hero Arkadag and our Hero
Arkadagly Serdar for creating such opportunities for the students to active
participation in scientific competitions, demonstrate their talents, and achieve new
milestones in the field of science.
