Lecture on Environmental Safety
On December 24, 2022, a lecture on water diplomacy was held at the Educational Center for the Priority Areas of Diplomacy of Turkmenistan of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The lecture was devoted to the work carried out in the field of ecology between Turkmenistan and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and within the framework of the UN specialized agencies and structures.
The esteemed Ambassador noted that ensuring environmental safety is one of the priorities of the state policy of Turkmenistan. He told about the fact that Turkmenistan is promoting positive cooperation within the framework of the United Nations, and that our country participates in a number of UN conventions on issues related to environmental safety and plays an active role in the field of environmental issues.
During the event, the need to rely on universally recognized norms of international law, take into account the interests of all countries in the region, and actively involve authoritative international organizations in issues related to environmental safety was discussed. At the end of the session, an active exchange of views took place in the question-answer format.
