Seminar on Election Coverage in the Media
On September 18-19, 2024, a seminar on election coverage in the media was held at the Center of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Ashgabat. The seminar was organized jointly by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the OSCE Office in Turkmenistan, and the State News Agency of Turkmenistan. Representatives of relevant institutions, media outlets, and university professors, including faculty from the Department of International Journalism at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, participated in the seminar.
As is well known, Turkmenistan is effectively developing mutually beneficial cooperation with the OSCE in the humanitarian field, particularly in the development of science and education systems. As part of this cooperation, training seminars, meetings, and competitions with national experts in relevant fields are regularly held. The seminar on election coverage in the media also aimed to enhance the journalistic skills of national experts.
OSCE experts provided valuable advice on preparing journalistic materials on the subject and effectively utilizing online platforms. The seminar was conducted in an interactive format.
