INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL ONLINE CONFERENCE
On April 15–16, 2026, Magtymguly Turkmen State University hosted an international scientific and practical conference titled "Modern Scientific Research in the Study of Historical and Cultural Heritage: Sustainable Development of Peoples and Cultures."
Academics and students from the People's Republic of China, the Republic of Türkiye, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Italian Republic, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan joined Turkmenistan’s higher educational institutions for the conference, which was held via a digital system. In particular, active members of the “Culture of Peace" UNESCO club, operating at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, participated in the forum.
During the plenary session of the international conference, the experts delivered speeches on the active cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNESCO, national and global efforts aimed at protecting cultural heritage, the development of cultural cooperation between states and its role in fostering bilateral friendly relations, as well as the significance of youth involvement in cultural, humanitarian and legal relations.
The international conference continued its work with the following breakout sessions:
Section I: Turkmenistan – UNESCO: The Role of International Cooperation in Protecting National and World Cultural Heritage;
Section II: Modern Development of Cultural and Humanitarian Relations;
Section III: Issues of Improving the Methodology of Studying and Teaching Historical and Cultural Heritage.
