A meeting dedicated to healthy lifestyles
On October 12, 2021, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a meeting dedicated to adherence of the rules of law, preventing the negative effects of alcohol and tobacco on human health, avoiding harmful habits and following healthy lifestyles. It was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, the Elderly Organization of Turkmenistan, teaching staff and students of the Institute, as well as representatives of the mass media.
Speakers at the meeting highlighted that in our Independent Homeland it is paid great attention on maintaining the moral purity of the Turkmen society, bringing up future generation of our country in the spirit of patriotism, avoiding harmful habits, adhering to the principles of healthy lifestyles. In addition, they noted that drinking alcohol is detrimental to human health, disintegrates family, adversely affects upbringing of children and that under the influence of alcohol, people lose their sense of responsibility before the society and the state. Speakers also underlined negative effects of such popular sites among young people as instagram and tiktok. On that social media platforms people post self-promoting photos that are not acceptable in our Turkmen society.
There is a constant concern in our country to ensure social security of families. Efforts to promote a healthy lifestyle among young people, to up bring the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism and to ensure that they are free from bad habits have yielded positive results. In the current period of seasonal diseases, it is advisable to turn to folk medicine methods. Our highly esteemed President's multi-volume book "Medicinal Plants of Turkmenistan" provides a detailed information about the healing properties of plants growing in the Turkmen soil in the prevention of possible infectious diseases. The benefits of “uzarlik” among medicinal plants are greater in the treatment of infectious diseases. It has been scientifically proven that its smoke destroys bacteria and germs. At present, in all sports facilities of the country, preventive cleaning, the use of antiseptics are carried out at a high level and are carried out on a daily basis.
The speakers also noted the importance of poems of our great poet Magtymguly Pyragy in upbringing healthy and highly motivated young people in our happy times.
At the end of the meeting, the participants expressed their deep gratitude to our highly esteemed President for the wide opportunities for constant implementation of healthy lifestyles in our country.
