A SEMINAR ON THE OSCE AND PREVENTIVE DIPLOMACY TOOK PLACE
On October 15, 2025, a seminar was held at the United Nations Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia on the topic “The OSCE: Confidence Building, Trust, and Peace”. The seminar brought together students of the Training Center for Priority Areas of Diplomacy of Turkmenistan at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, as well as students from other universities of the country. Ambassador William R. Leaf, Head of the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat, conducted the seminar.
During the event, Ambassador Leaf provided detailed information on the history and core principles of the OSCE, the Organization’s three dimensions of security, and confidence- and trust-building measures. He also highlighted the structure of the OSCE, its institutions and field operations, as well as the role of diplomacy in promoting stability and cooperation in the Central Asian region.
Following the presentation, an interactive discussion and a Q&A session were held, allowing participants to exchange views, deepen their understanding of international cooperation in the field of security, and ask questions of interest.
