A Conference Was Held on the Occasion of Granting the Certificate of Entry to the International Forum on Diplomatic Preparation to the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan
On March 15, 2024, a conference was held at the Large Conference Hall of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on the occasion of granting said institute the certificate of entry to the International Forum on Diplomatic Preparation (IFDT).
It should be noted that the ceremony of presenting this certificate took place on March 12 of this year as part of the working visit of the Turkmen delegation to Austria led by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R.Meredov.
The conference was attended by the lecturers and students of the institute, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
Speakers of the conference, emphasizing the high level of Turkmen-Austrian relations built on the principles of mutual trust and benefit, noted that both countries demonstrate a desire to make full use of the existing solid potential for implementation of joint projects. The participants, expressing gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov for his attention to the development of bilateral dialogue, emphasized that Turkmen-Austrian relations are characterized by increasing dynamics, especially in the fields of trade and economy, and humanitarian relations.
It was also noted that the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan has gained a positive experience of interaction with the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna in the recent years. In particular, a draft of a Roadmap has been prepared to further strengthen the cooperation with the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna. The speeches also stated that the International Forum on Diplomatic Training (IFDT) is a platform where heads of diplomatic schools from around the world discuss the latest trends in diplomatic education. In this regard, the special importance of the invitation of the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna addressed to the rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan to participate in the next 50th Forum, which will be held in the second half of 2024 in Montenegro, was emphasized.
It should also be noted that a number of young diplomats working in the country’s foreign policy department, being graduates of the High School of National Diplomacy, successfully completed summer training courses at the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna. The young specialists of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan have increased their knowledge in fields such as "Negotiations within the Framework of International Organizations" and "Europe and International Relations." Specialists of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan spoke in detail about their experience in their speeches.
The speakers also noted that during the recent working visit to Austria, the Turkmen side put forward promising ideas and proposals regarding the further expansion of productive cooperation between the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Vienna Diplomatic Academy, as well as the exchange of young diplomats, internships for teachers and students, and the organization of various joint courses.
Particular attention was focused on the proposals put forward for organizing lectures and seminars of Austrian colleagues on issues of preventive, energy, water and digital diplomacy on the basis of the Training Center for Priority Areas of Diplomacy of Turkmenistan located at the institute, as well as for improving the teaching of subjects in the fields of international relations and diplomacy, and geopolitical and economic relations.
