BILATERAL RELATIONS BECOMING EVEN MORE STABLE

A bilateral meeting between the Rector of Sokhumi State University of Georgia, Tea Jugeli, and the Rector of our institute, Gulshat Yusupova, took place on October 11, 2025, at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. This meeting was held within the framework of the international scientific conference and exhibition “Healthcare, Education, and Sports in the Era of the Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State” which is taking place in Ashgabat from October 10 to 12, 2025.

During the meeting, the parties focused on initiatives that would help strengthen cooperation between higher education institutions and academic groups. Rector Tea Jugeli noted that she is ready to actively support initiatives for the development of joint academic and cultural projects, emphasizing that expanding ties between universities will strengthen cooperation between Turkmenistan and Georgia.

Following the meeting, a training seminar for students was organized at the initiative of the esteemed guest. The guest spoke about the expanding Turkmen-Georgian relations each year, the current state and prospects of cooperation, and the measures being taken to develop bilateral and multilateral relations. She also drew attention to the great opportunities for the further development of political, trade-economic, transport-communication, scientific-educational, cultural, and humanitarian ties between Turkmenistan and Georgia, citing the annually growing trade turnover as an example. Highlighting the effective nature of mutually beneficial cooperation between Turkmenistan and Georgia, she elaborated on the significance of the Lapis Lazuli transport corridor, which runs through “Afghanistan—Turkmenistan—Azerbaijan—Georgia—Turkiye”.

At the end of the successful meeting, Rector Tea Jugeli provided detailed and precise answers to students’ questions about Turkmen-Georgian relations.
