THE EMBASSY OF INDIA IN TURKMENISTAN CELEBRATED ITEC DAY 2026
On March 24, 2026, the Embassy of India in Turkmenistan organized a ceremonial event at the “Yyldyz” hotel in Ashgabat to celebrate ITEC Day 2026, dedicated to the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme.
The event was attended by alumni of the ITEC Programme and ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations) scholarship recipients, as well as representatives of the diplomatic and expert communities and faculty members of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the event, the Ambassador of India to Turkmenistan, Bandaru Wilsonbabu, noted that the ITEC Programme was established in 1964 and continues to serve as one of the key platforms of the Ministry of External Affairs of India for enhancing the capacities of partner countries. ITEC and ICCR alumni also shared their educational experiences in India and spoke about how the knowledge they gained has been applied in their professional careers.
The event concluded with performances of Indian songs, dances, and a yoga demonstration.
