AN ONLINE TRAINING SESSION WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF AN EXPERIENCED DIPLOMAT
On December 9, 2025, an online training session was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, on the occasion of declaring 2025 as the “International Year of Peace and Trust” and the glorious 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Permanent Neutrality, as well as in accordance with the Concept of Turkmenistan’s work and priorities during the “International Year of Peace and Trust”. Head of the Research Center for Strategic studies of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan Shiri Shiriyev, delivered a speech on the topic: “Methods used by large states in geopolitical games”. Professors, lecturers, and students from all higher educational institutions of our country participated in the online training session.
The experienced diplomat spoke about how studying and evaluating situations occurring within geopolitical boundaries, making predictions, and developing long-term programs based on relevant proposals provide an opportunity to implement strategically important measures in foreign policy and diplomacy.
Thanks to the deep wisdom, capable state policy, and persistent work of our Arkadagly Hero Serdar, Turkmenistan, which is steadily advancing along the bright path of development and happiness, is today widely known as an authoritative and highly respected state in the world. Neutrality, peacefulness, equality, respect for mutual interests, and strict adherence to assumed international legal obligations are the basic principles of Turkmenistan's foreign policy and diplomacy.
At the end of the lesson, the skillful diplomat noted that the foreign policy initiatives of Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan, which are considered a continuation of its domestic policy, support peace, equality, and benevolent cooperation worldwide.
