Diplomat Amangeldi Rahmanov received an award from the Economic Cooperation Organization
On November 21, 2023, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, a ceremony was held to present a special award from the Economic Cooperation Organization in the category “History, culture, literature and fine arts” to Amangeldi Rahmanov, head of the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy of the Institute of International Relations, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkmenistan. The award was presented by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov.
As is known, during the 16th summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization, held on November 9, 2023 in Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan, the winners of the organization’s awards were announced. In order to further enhance economic ties in the region, Turkmenistan attaches great importance to cooperation with the ECO and its member states.
During the award ceremony, our oldest diplomat, Professor Amangeldi Rahmanov, expressed his gratitude to the Organizing Committee of the organization for the high assessment of his scientific work. As a result of the efforts of our Respected President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, all conditions are being created for the development of science in the country and the successful participation of our scientists in international competitions. Professor Amangeldi Rahmanov, on behalf of himself and his colleagues, expressed sincere gratitude to our National Leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov for their great care for the scientific teams, and also assured that he would use his knowledge and efforts to successfully complete the assigned tasks for the further development of our country.
Professor Amangeldi Rahmanov, from October 1980 to February 1992, served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, then from February 1991 to January 1995, he served as the first permanent representative of Turkmenistan to the United Nations. Amangeldi Rahmanov represented Turkmenistan during the 47th, 48th and 49th sessions of the UN General Assembly. From March 1995 to March 2001, he served as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Korea.
Professor Amangeldi Rahmanov has been the head of the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan since 2008 and to this day. Today, our diplomat professor is the author of several textbooks intended for students studying in higher educational institutions of the country. These are books published in 2012 “Fundamentals of the diplomatic service (history-theory-practice)”, in 2014 “The United Nations and its system”, in the year 2015 “Diplomatic missions and information-analytical-educational activities”, in 2017 “Turkmenistan - China: history and modernity”, in 2019 “Foreign policy and diplomacy of Turkmenistan”.
In addition, on February 18, 2023, on the day of the diplomatic worker of Turkmenistan, Professor Amangeldi Rahmanov was awarded the distinctive sign “Türkmenistanyň ussat diplomaty”.
As said, the work of individuals who make a great contribution to the work of the organization must be specifically identified and encouraged, the development and strengthening of this structure is the right and worthy step, it strengthens new ideas, initiatives, commitment to the principles of cooperation of fraternal peoples and states.
