INTERNATIONAL TRAINING SEMINAR WAS HELD
On April 21–22, 2026, an international training seminar was held at the “Arçabil” Hotel in Ashgabat within the framework of the project titled “Turkmenistan: Sustainable Trade and Integration.” This significant event brought together experienced specialists from the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan, the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, the Main State Service “Turkmenstandartlary,” as well as professors and lecturers from higher educational institutions of the country.
The primary objective of the seminar was to support Turkmenistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization with the assistance of the International Trade Centre and the support of the European Union. In particular, discussions focused on addressing technical barriers to trade and aligning new draft legislation with international standards.
During the seminar, the requirements of WTO agreements and the activities carried out by the Main State Service “Turkmenstandartlary” were thoroughly examined, accompanied by extensive exchanges of views. Participants also enhanced their knowledge and experience on key topics such as technical regulation and standards in trade, as well as the integration of the national economy into international trade.
At the conclusion of the seminar, an engaging question-and-answer session was held. Participants expressed their gratitude for the opportunities created to organize such high-level training events, enhance knowledge, and broaden perspectives.
