International Training Seminar Held
On June 10-11, 2026, the «Archabil» Hotel in Ashgabat hosted a training seminar titled «WTO Rules on Subsidies and State Trading Enterprises». The event was organized within the framework of the UN International Trade Centre (ITC) project: «Capacity building for civil servants to participate in activities related to joining the World Trade Organization». This significant event was attended by experienced specialists from the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan, the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, the «Turkmenstandartlary» Main State Service, as well as professors and lecturers from the country's higher education institutions.
The primary objective of the training seminar, initiated by the International Trade Centre with the support of the European Union, is to facilitate Turkmenistan's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). In particular, the participants discussed issues related to technical barriers to trade and aligning new draft laws with international standards.
During the seminar, intensive studies and exchanges of views took place regarding the requirements of WTO agreements and the operations of state trading enterprises. Furthermore, the participants acquired new knowledge and expertise on crucial topics such as technical regulation and standards in trade, and the integration of the national economy into international trade.
At the conclusion of the seminar, an engaging question and answer session was held. Following that, gratitude was expressed to our Hero Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar for creating opportunities to hold such high-level training seminars, advance knowledge, and broaden horizons.
