WINNER’S REWARD CEREMONY ON HOLDING THE ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION ENTITILED «THE ROLE OF THE INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN LAW IN THE SUPPORT OF PEACE AND SAFETY ON THE PLANET»
On May 8, 2024, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan organized a reward ceremony for winners of the competition held among the students and masters of Higher Educational Institutions of the Central Asian Countries (Turkmenistan, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Republic of Tajikistan and Republic of Uzbekistan) by the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
One of the priority directions of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy strategy is the humanitarian policy in the name of all humanity. The role of Central Asian states in maintaining peace and security throughout the world is rapidly growing. Enormous, long-term fruitful work is being carried out to develop friendship, mutual understanding and cooperation between the states of the region, to strengthen peace and security, to deepen interaction between countries in the political, economic, as well as cultural and humanitarian spheres, and promote common interests and initiatives on the international arena. By demonstrating a responsible approach to issues of regional and international partnership, Turkmenistan makes a significant contribution to the coordination of the efforts to solve the most important problems of our time.
The main goal of the competition organizing is to strengthen and extend education, as well as the fundamental principles of the International humanitarian law.
This competition aroused great interest among young people studying in higher educational institutions of the country and foreign countries. Based on this, the total number of submitted works was more than 90, and about 30 of them came from students and graduates of higher educational institutions Central Asia countries.
In order to study the positive experience of states in the field of education and intensification of international cooperation within the framework of memoranda of understanding concluded by the Institute with the partner of foreign higher educational institutions, such as the University of World Economy and diplomacy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Diplomatic Academy of the Kyrgyz Republic named after K. Dikambavev, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Tajik National University, Tajik State University of law, business and politics, Tajik State Pedagogical University named after Sadriddin Aini, Russian-Tajik (Slavonic) University, Khorog State University named after M. Nazarshoev, Dangara State University were sent several essays from the Republic of Tajikistan and from other Central Asian countries.
Evaluation and determination of the best written works for an essay competition on the topic “The Role of the International Humanitarian Law in the Support of Peace and Safety on the Planet” analyzed by impartial group of judges in accordance with the regulations on the competition, and the results of the competition was published on May 1, 2024 on the institute’s website (iirmfa.edu.tm).
The students who took part in the competition expressed their gratitude to the esteemed President for his fatherly care and progressive ideas for the benefit of our beautiful Motherland.
