RECOGNITION AT THE INTERNATIONAL LEVEL
On April 25, 2022, a solemn conference was held on the occasion of awarding Ashgabat with the International Certificate for promoting and contributing to the initiative of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe “Trees in Cities”.
During the meeting, the rector of the institute J.Gurbangeldiyev congratulated on this important occasion and noted that the activities carried out in the country in the field of ecological safety, nature and environmental protection.
During the meeting, Narine Saakyan, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program in Turkmenistan, said that for many years Turkmenistan had been implementing programs and projects aimed at achieving sustainable development in the world together with the United Nations and noted that forest zones are created in the rural areas in Turkmenistan on the basis of a special National Forest Program. The speaker also congratulated the participants of the conference on the international recognition of the achievements in this field. In his speech, N. Shihliyev, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of the International University for the Humanities and Development, emphasized that special attention was paid to environmental protection, the conservation of biodiversity in the state policy of our country. He noted that the gardening activity testifies to Turkmenistan’s commitment to fulfilling its environmental obligations.
Yegor Zaitsev, the representative of the World Health Organization in Turkmenistan, also warmly congratulated the foreign policy success of our country, noting that our efforts in the field of environmental protection are recognized internationally. He stressed that gardening is very beneficial for our nature and human health.
In addition, O. Ezimova, Ph.D., Head of the Department of Social Sciences of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, M. Chopanov, Lecturer of the Department of Zoology at the Magtymguly Turkmen State University and R. Saparmuradov, lecturer of the Department of Silk and Plant Protection of the S. Niyazov Agricultural University made speeches about the activities carried out to achieve environmental safety in our country.
The participants congratulated the President and our people on the international certificate. They wished the President every success in his important work aimed at environment protection and the achievement of ecological safety.
