Opening Ceremony of the branch of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charity Fund for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship
On December 9, 2025, the opening ceremony of the branch of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charity Fund for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship was held in "Avaza" National Tourist Zone. This high-level event became one of the important milestones of the year of 2025, declared as the “International Year of Peace and Trust,” symbolizing the continuation of Turkmen people’s humanitarian principles at the state level.
As is known, recently the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, paid a visit to the Balkan velayat (province),to look over the arrangements for the international conference titled “The Role of Women in Modern Society: Promoting International Cooperation for Sustainable Development,” as well as with the important opportunities for establishing the effective work of the Fund branch.
The Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charity Fund for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship has provided help to hundreds of children not only in our country but also in Turkiye, Ukraine, Russia, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan. This demonstrates the continuous expand of their framework.
The opening and launch of the Fund branch work in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone on the eve of the international conference further reveals the triumph of the humanitarian principles of the Turkmen people.
“Supporting the helpless and poor people is one of the most honorable humanistic principles and traditions of our ancestors,” says our Hero-Arkadag, who signed the historic Decree on the establishment of the Charity Fund for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship on March 29, 2021. The Fund carried out at lot of effective work so far to bring brightness to life of a great deal of families and disabilities in need of guardianship and support, including those with unables.
Furthermore, within the framework of the ceremony, a meeting was held between Oguljahan Atabayeva, Vice-President on Healthcare Issues of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charity Fund for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship, and Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Fund in the Republic of Azerbaijan. During the meeting, issues of developing cooperation in the humanitarian field were discussed. This clearly indicates the continuous expansion of the international cooperation of the Fund, which honorably bears the name of our Hero-Arkadag.
