COMPETITION ON GEOGRAPHY AND ECOLOGY WAS HELD
On March 30, 2026, at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan was held a competition on Geography and Ecology among graduating high school students from spezialized schools of Ashgabat.
Dedicated to the International Day of Zero Waste, the event brought together teams from Specialized Secondary School No. 37 with an advanced curriculum in foreign languages, Specialized Secondary School No. 68 named after Annaniyaz Artyk with an advanced curriculum in foreign languages, Specialized Secondary School No. 72 named after the Hero of Turkmenistan Gurbansoltan Eje, Specialized Secondary School No. 76 with an advanced curriculum in humanities and foreign languages, Specialized Educational and Training School No. 21 and Specialized Boarding School named after Saparmurat Turkmenbashy.
Organized by the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy, the competition aimed to reveal the scientific and educational potential of youth, develop their intellectual and logical thinking abilities, and identify talented students. The competition consisted of three stages designed to test both theoretical knowledge and quick-thinking skills. In the first stage, students answered questions regarding world capitals; the second stage focused on national flags; and the final stage addressed general issues in ecology. Participants provided written answers in Russian or English for a total of 36 questions, with 60 seconds allotted for each response.
Based on the final results, the team from Specialized Boarding School named after Saparmurat Turkmenbashy achieved the highest score and won the 1st place. The second place was awarded to the team from Specialized Educational and Training School No. 21, and the third place went to the students of Specialized Secondary School No. 76 with an advanced curriculum in humanities and foreign languages. Winners were awarded with diplomas and souvenirs on behalf of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. This event provided a significant incentive for the younger generation to deepen their knowledge in diplomacy, geography, and ecology.
