Creative meeting
On May 6, 2021, at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, a creative meeting was held with participation of Managing editor of the “Türkmen Dünýäsi” newspaper Dovran Agaliyev and the students of the Faculty of International Journalism. It was dedicated to implementation of the instructions of our deeply esteemed President to pay special attention to training of highly qualified journalists, which were given at video conference working session on December 23, 2020, as well as to following mentor-learner principle.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that young journalists should be brought up in the spirit of patriotism and morality, as well as the need for them to excel in advanced computer technologies and digital systems. Dovran Agaliyev told the young journalists about collecting materials for newspaper pages, gathering information for the news, the features of working with news sources, as well as the work carried out aimed at reflecting developments in our country through dissemination of news and coverage of the policy of our highly esteemed President in the international media.
The guest also noted the importance of developing a mentor-learner path in journalism. Moreover, experienced journalist Dovran Agaliyev noted that editing in Adobe Indesign software requires special skills and experience.
At the end of the meeting, the students who participated in it addressed the journalist with the questions and received valuable advice. This practical session has been very effective for future international journalists.
