AWARD CEREMONY OF THE WINNERS OF THE ESSAY CONTEST "THE ROLE OF DIPLOMACY IN THE 21ST CENTURY"
On June 15, 2023, the award ceremony of the winners of the essay contest "The Role of Diplomacy in the 21st Century" was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The competition was organized by the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan in honor of the announcement of 2023 as the "International Year of Dialogue as a Guarantee of Peace".
This creative competition was held among students of higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan with the aim of implementing the Plan for the implementation of the Concept for improving the teaching of foreign languages in Turkmenistan, as well as the implementation of the interaction of higher educational institutions of the country in the field of education, increasing the motivation of students to study the Russian language which is one of the official languages of the United Nations.
The selection of the competition started on May 3, 2023, students of national universities were invited to participate in it. According to the regulations the contestants need to write an essay in Russian on one of the proposed thematic areas: "Dialogue is a guarantee of peace" - a new philosophy of international relations, "The role of a foreign language in intercultural communication", "Dialogue of cultures and UNESCO", " Cultural diplomacy is the language of interethnic dialogue”.
Arslan Mamedov, a student of the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammed Azadi, became the winner of the Grand Prize of the competition. Mengli Charyeva, a student of the International University for the Humanities and Development, was awarded the 1st place, Mekan Annagulyev, a student of the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammed Azadi, was awarded the 2nd place, and Ayjeren Orazberdiyeva, a student of the Magtymguly Turkmen State University, took the 3rd place.
In a separate category among international students, 1st place was taken by Aigul Meredova, a student of the Faculty of International Relations, 2nd place - Oguzhan Piriyev, a student of the Faculty of International Relations, 3rd place - Erem Dovletmyradov, a student of the Faculty of International Economic Relations, Ejesh Taganova, a student of the Faculty of International Journalism, and Davut Nazmuradov, a student of the Faculty of International Relations of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
Students who distinguished themselves with their work were awarded diplomas of winners and valuable gifts from the "Aýdyň gijeler" Association. We are proud of the students' achievements and wish them success in future contests.
