THE CONSECUTIVE ROUND OF THE TRAINING SESSIONS ON SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS HAS BEEN HELD AT A HIGH ORGANIZATIONAL LEVEL
On February 5, 2024, in accordance with the agreed curriculum for the 2023-2024 academic year, consecutive round of training session on Sustainable Development Goals has been held at the Scientific and Methodological Center for Sustainable Development Goals of the Institute of International Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan in cooperation with the United Nations Office in Ashgabat. The Permanent Coordinator of the United Nations in Turkmenistan, Dmitry Shlapachenko, participating in the opening of the training sessions noted that the importance of our country's scaled activities aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. During the training sessions, representatives of the United Nations Office in Ashgabat delivered speeches on all 17 of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Representatives of higher educational establishments of Turkmenistan located in the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag took part in the training sessions. During the sessions, the activities directed at reducing harmful effects of global climate change, the goals and objectives of the United Nations, the sustainable development of cities and settlements and the tasks of providing decent living conditions for people were discussed. In addition, the importance of the city of Arkadag, which is a world model city of "smart" and "green" technologies, the role of a reliable and stable energy system in ensuring sustainable development, strengthening the connectivity of all forms of transport in order to achieve the goals of sustainable development were noted.
