A roundtable discussion was held on November 10 between the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Diplomatic Institute of Romania on the occasion of 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan's Permanent Neutrality.
The meeting was chaired by Begench Matliyev, Deputy Rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Deputy Director of the Romanian Diplomatic Institute Ileana Racerun. The meeting was held in English and Turkmen languages.
The participants of the roundtable spoke about cooperation between the two higher educational establishments, as well as Turkmen-Romanian relations. They also paid special attention to the celebration of 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan's Permanent Neutrality.
During the meeting, the first conference of the UN Interregional Model, which was held on October 27-29, 2020 as part of the events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the United Nations and 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan's Permanent Neutrality was highlighted. The event was co-organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the UN Resident Coordinator Office in Ashgabat and the UN Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia.
In particular, representatives of higher education institutions, including the Diplomatic Institute of Romania, in the field of diplomacy and international relations, took part in the work of the UN Model. The participants expressed their readiness to continue talks within the framework of the UN Model by organizing similar events as part of their work.
At the end of the meeting, participants expressed their gratitude to our highly esteemed President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for his great efforts in further strengthening relations between the two countries.
