A TRAINING COURSE WAS HELD AT THE ANWAR GARGASH DIPLOMATIC ACADEMY
On December 8-11, 2025, a training course entitled "Global Connections: Diplomatic Training on UAE Politics, Culture and Economics" was organized at the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy (AGDA) in Abu Dhabi, with the support of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Turkmenistan. Faculty member and students of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan as well as representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan participated in the course.
During the training course, experts conducted training sessions on various topics, including the UAE's foreign policy and international cooperation, aspects of coexistence and tolerance in practice, and the UAE's cultural and economic prospects.
On the first day, Mr. Mohammed Al Midfa, Deputy Director of the Policy Planning Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, delivered a lecture on the origins, formation, and future projects of the UAE’s foreign policy. The second lecture on the topic of international humanitarian cooperation of the UAE was delivered by Mr. Sultan Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development Affairs and International Organizations at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On the second day, a lecture on the UAE's economic policy was delivered by Senior Financial Compliance Specialist Mr. Ibrahim Al Hosani and Senior Economic Specialist Mr. Rashed Al Zarooni. On the same day, a meeting was held with the UAE Ambassador to Turkmenistan, Ahmed Al Hameli, who spoke about bilateral relations between the UAE and Turkmenistan.
On the third day, a tour of the National Library and Archives was organized, during which a representative of the government organization, Ms. Mahra Al Ahbabi, introduced participants to the history of the formation and development of the UAE as a state.
On the fourth day, Dr. Walid Namane gave a presentation on the work being done to promote the values of tolerance and coexistence, as well as to encourage young people to be positive and contribute to society.
In addition to the academic component, the course included excursions to historical sites and museums in Abu Dhabi, which allowed participants to discover the cultural diversity of the United Arab Emirates. Abu Dhabi's historic landmarks, such as the Qasr Al Watan and Qasr Al Hosn presidential palaces, which play a significant role in shaping the UAE's sovereignty and rich culture, as well as the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, left a lasting impression on the course participants. Participants also visited teamLab Phenomena in Abu Dhabi. teamLab Phenomena is an art museum in Saadiyat Cultural District, Abu Dhabi home to the most prestigious Abu Dhabi art museums. teamLab Phenomena explores how environmental phenomena interact with their surroundings, creating artworks that change our perception of the world.
In this space, light, sound, technology and nature merge into interactive installations, allowing visitors to become part of the artwork and explore digital universes.
The program not only deepened students' understanding of the political, economic, and cultural spheres of the UAE at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, but also contributed to the development of their intercultural communication skills and knowledge of diplomatic protocol.
The participants of the training course expressed deep gratitude to the UAE Embassy in Turkmenistan and the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy for organizing the training course in the UAE.
Following the successful completion of the training course, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening partnership in the fields of education and diplomacy, expressing their firm readiness to further deepen cooperation and regularly organize similar high-level programs in the future.
