Seminar Dedicated to Universal Children's Day
On November 20, 2024, a seminar dedicated to Universal Children's Day was held at Secondary School No. 68, named after Annaniyaz Artyk, in Ashgabat. This day is celebrated annually worldwide.
The event was organized by the members of the Young Scientists Council and the "Young Lawyers" Studies Club of the Department of International Law and Comparative Law at the Institute of International Relations, of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The main goal of the seminar was to explain to the students about the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. An international legal document that defines the rights of children in the countries that are parties to the convention. Lecturer Gulsenem Khommadova, along with students specializing in children's rights, shared their knowledge on the topic of child protection.
At the end of the seminar, the students had the opportunity to ask questions and received comprehensive and detailed answers. Such events are beneficial for all participants, as young scientists and students gain valuable experience interacting with schoolchildren, while the students themselves learn about the functions of international organizations, the content of multilateral treaties, and the terminology used in international law.
